How to Contact Mr. White

Need information about this course? The channels are wide open--you've got a lucky seven different ways to get answers to your questions!

The Website

You probably already know about the website--you're reading this on the Internet, right?! There is a ton of information here, including a class calendar, practice problems, practice tests, a discussion board... If you're looking for something specific, type a keyword or two into the Search box up top and see what comes up.

The Discussion Board

For ongoing conversations about how to solve homework problems, the Discussion Board is ideal. Sign in with a username "physics" and password "physics", and include your name in the Subject of your topic.

E-mail

E-mail is the single best way to make absolutely sure I'll get your message and to make absolutely sure that I'll respond in a timely fashion. I check e-mail several times daily, and will usually be able to respond within 12 hours of your writing me. E-mail is a great way for parents to contact me with concerns regarding their student, and a great way for students to contact me with concerns that they, for whatever reason, are unable to discuss with me in class. My e-mail address is:

rwhite@crashwhite.com

Instant Messaging

Online Instant Messaging is ideal for students who need to get a little help while doing homework. I'm not always online--it's a little-known secret that I actually have a real life after I leave school each day--but if I'm on, you'll be able to find me under the following screen names.

AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) rwhite5279 Chat Now!
MSN Messenger rwhite@crashwhite.com

RSS Feed

For the truly geeky, there is an RSS Feed for this website, at

Whenever the site is updated--with new grades, class announcements, etc--your newsreader will let you know.

Telephone

The telephone, although convenient, is not recommended as a good way to get hold of me. E-mail is much more reliable, even if it's just to leave me your phone number and let me know when you'd like me to call. That way, I'll be sure to get your message, even if I'm not currently at school.

If you simply must use the phone, my number at Polytechnic School is 626-792-2147 x505.

Talk to me at school

Students are usually able to find me at school, either in the classroom, the lab, or my office. I'm always happy to make arrangements to meet with parents--after school works best, although other times can be easily arranged.
